Cornfields of Change

Devastated and disillusioned, Jack searches for sanity and sanctuary. For decades he lived a life of material success and admiration. The rules have changed, and the reality of his new existence becomes a waking nightmare.

Memories of the past haunt Jack as he tries to rebuild his broken life. With little opportunity or hope, he returns to a forgotten place, a place lost in the distant past where the roots of his character were first planted. Jack decides to go home.

They call it fly-over country. There are few reasons to be here unless you are born here and can't get out, or come from family money with an advantage at birth. Blacktop roads and gravel access ways grace the countryside and replace the multi-lane freeways and corporate glass buildings of the big cities. The custom homes with manicured yards on brightly lit culdesacs are replaced with farms, cottages, and enough churches to give everyone in the community a place to go on Sunday.

Jobs and opportunities are few, and most that make it here leverage family money to buy a farm, raise crops or cattle and wait for the right price and sell to the highest bidder. With no factories and little infrastructure Jack has to dig deep into his past and awaken an ideology long forgotten.

While struggling for acceptance, Jack stumbles upon a secret, an ancient story that holds the power to unleash a devastating truth, and disrupt the calm and peaceful existence for everyone in the community. Terrified of the implications, Jack decides to share the secret, and the result not only impacts the locals sitting in a little white church, but quickly permeates and sets course to change the reality of everyone else.
